Our commitment

Saint City Community CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk who take part in our activities. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we expect the same standards from our partners, volunteers and contractors.

What we do in practice

• An appointed Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy, contactable during all delivery hours.
• Enhanced DBS checks for every member of staff and volunteer working with children or adults at risk.
• Annual safeguarding training, plus induction training before any volunteer's first session.
• Minimum staffing ratios and a strict no-lone-working rule with participants.
• Written risk assessments for every venue, activity and off-site trip.
• A clear referral route to local authority children's services and the police.
• Annual review of our policy by the board, with learning from any incident logged and acted upon.

Raising a concern

If you are worried about a child or adult at risk, tell us straight away. You do not need to be certain, and you do not need to investigate. Concerns can be raised in person with any session lead, by email or by phone.

If someone is in immediate danger, always call 999 first.
